Reflection on Finished Shoe Sculpture

I think that the outcome of my shoe could have been alot better i just think with different materials it would have looked more realistic. The shoe is vere flexible so it was difficult to re-create the curves and such that is has. But i think that my shoe turned out pretty good at the end i think i could probably spend a little more time on it and add the finishing details but over all i think it was a job well done the shoe looks pretty life like i guess you could say but more detail would not hurt.

J Boogs did a very impressive job on this shoe. I remember when we started this project, he thought it looked too much like a dress shoe. Although this is true, when you look at it now, it is easily infered that he spent a large amount of time in order to change what he thought was wrong. This shows true commitment in an artist when they realize something is wrong, and are quick off the bat to correct and perfect it.

John, I really like how you use colors to replicate your shoe. The colors are really what make the shoe look so real: the black, white, and tan. To be honest, I don’t feel like it has the same feel as the real shoe, but I’m saying that as a good thing. It feels like there is too much open space in the middle, and you maybe could have filled that with shoelaces or something to make it look less vacant. I think that the shape of the shoe is for the most part pretty well-rounded but it could have been more of a round shape in the front, since it seems pretty square.
